Michael Collins Single Malt Irish Whiskey 70cl

Named after the the soldier and politician who was a leading figure in the struggle of Irish independence in the early 20th century. Michael Collins Single Malt is a whiskey made from peated and unpeated barley in Ireland’s oldest distillery, Cooley Distillery which is located north of Dundalk in Co. Louth beside Carlingford. Having been discontinued, Michael Collins has fast become a rare collector's item due to it’s popularity between both whiskey and history fans. Matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks to give the drinker an incredibly well balanced fruity yet smoky whiskey.

Michael Collins Single Malt Irish Whiskey is an extremely rare and collectible Whiskey, which had been produced by Cooley distillery. This fine example was awarded Double Gold at the 2009 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

This Special Whiskey has been aged in small bourbon seasoned casks, which means they are refined, flavorful and well-balanced.

Its taste is reminiscent of slightly sweet dried fruit, with a whiff of peat smoke in the background. Slightly fruity with a warm rounded mouth feel with a very slight malty creaminess. Light peat taste also. Quite a long finish with a nice warm smokey end.

To add to the appeal of this whiskey, it is presented in the original and no longer available "Big Fellow" style bottle.
