The Ned Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough New Zealand
Grown on the Ned vineyards which are located on the sloping banks of the Waihopai River on the south of the Wairau Valley in New Zealand. With lively and vibrant aromas of lemongrass, lime zest and fresh herbs, The Ned Sauvignon Blanc is perfect as an aperitif, an accompaniment to Mexican or Thai dishes and can also be enjoyed as an everyday wine. To capture the true beauty of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, The Ned uses Temperature controlled fermentation which occurs in stainless steel tanks using handpicked yeast strains to deliver a well-rounded, high quality Sauvignon Blanc.
The 2014 growing season was defined by its weather, beginning with one of the warmest starts on record. September to November experienced above average temperatures leading to an early flowering in December, then a reversal featured cooler than average temperatures January through to April - resulting in a highly desirable retention of pristine flavours across all our varietals.
Sauvignon blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. The grape most likely gets its name from the French words sauvage and blanc due to its early origins as an indigenous grape in South West France.
